Fear of Friends
It’s a Saturday night and you and all of your friends are huddled together watching a horror film. Why? Why do we continually watch these movies that, may or may not, give us nightmares for the next week? Is it the intense scenes that the movie obtains, or just the intense feeling that those scenes cause in our own bodies? Perhaps it's the social harassment that will come from the mouths’ of our friends when we vote for a Disney movie instead. No one wants to look weak and scared, especially in front of our friends. We fear the social pressure our peers put on us in those situations. We dread the thought of others thinking us afraid of those not so realistic movies. However, that’s the problem; we don’t want to be afraid. But do we fear the movie or our friends more?

This is well-written and sets up the problem nicely. I'd like to know more about your specific stance here. Is this a problem for a particular age group more than others (teenagers or college students, for example). Is this harmless social pressure or are there negative consequences of this? What does this trend say about our culture or us individually? Is a positive way to bond and purge emotion?
